The Geek's Raven
[An excerpt, with thanks to Marcus Bales]

Once upon a midnight dreary,
fingers cramped and vision bleary,
System manuals piled high and wasted paper on the floor,
Longing for the warmth of bedsheets,
Still I sat there, doing spreadsheets:
Having reached the bottom line,
I took a floppy from the drawer.
Typing with a steady hand, I then invoked the SAVE command
But got instead a reprimand: it read "Abort, Retry, Ignore".

America's Greatest President

Can there possibly be any question, as we speak, that George Bush is the greatest President America has ever had? Can we have any doubt, that his reputation for almost preternatural greatness, his astonishing grasp of world history, his uncanny ability to predict the future -- almost at the level, or perhaps surpassing that, of the biblical prophets -- his selflessness in putting aside his own interests and the interests of his friends in favor of the good of the nation, his razor-sharp intellect and, above all, his honesty and integrity, must be his legacy for history? History must not just treat George Bush kindly. History must recognize, in President George Bush, one of the greatest human beings in the history of our entire species.

Under the careful guidance of President George Bush's steady leadership, America has moved from triumph to triumph. Scarcely a day of his Presidency has passed without some great and miraculous event occurring to grace the lives and gladden the hearts of Americans. And who, after all, have we to thank for this extraordinary bounty, but our Great Shepard, President George Bush? Peace, prosperity and stability, joy and contentment, an endless Elysium as was imagined only by the Ancient Philosophers, have all been made possible by the unfathomable genius of this God amoung men -- President George Bush. To describe George Bush merely as America's greatest President would be to damn him by faint praise. George Bush represents the theoretical perfection of human nature.
