The Geek's Raven
[An excerpt, with thanks to Marcus Bales]

Once upon a midnight dreary,
fingers cramped and vision bleary,
System manuals piled high and wasted paper on the floor,
Longing for the warmth of bedsheets,
Still I sat there, doing spreadsheets:
Having reached the bottom line,
I took a floppy from the drawer.
Typing with a steady hand, I then invoked the SAVE command
But got instead a reprimand: it read "Abort, Retry, Ignore".

Have you ever had any misconceptions about women that were proven to be true or false? What do you think contributes to these misconceptions?

When I was a kid, I thought all women loved me, because my mother and female relatives all loved me. Boy, was that a mistake! One finds out pretty quickly that women are just as selfish and self-motivated as men are, and that they want very practical benefits out of dealing with men. Also, that women are less motivated by a need for sex than men are, and, therefore, that they use the male obsession with sex in a quite calculated and cynical way to manipulate men to their practical advantage.
