Trump is finished
While there is currently some uncertainty over whether the Democrats will get the 4 seats necessary to take full control of the Senate -- odds are now about 2:1 in favor of the Democrats -- there is no such uncertainty about the House. With betting odds of more than 10:1, this is as close to certainty as betting odds ever get. The Democrats will take the House. However, although the odds of taking the Senate are only 2:1, the odds of taking at least 3 or more seats -- making the Senate a 50-50 tie -- also are now approaching 10:1 for the Democrats. So, at least a tied up Senate is also a lock. Democrats will at least tie up the Senate.
Of course, it's possible for Vice-President JD Vance to break the tie, if he's available. However, that's assuming there are no Republican defections, which is highly unlikely given Republicans like Rand Paul, and Lisa Murkowski. Also, given Trump's very low approval ratings, that are still dropping, any Republicans in vulnerable seats will think twice about supporting unpopular policies, for fear for their own political careers.
So, it appears certain, now, that Trump will be the lamest of lame ducks next year. No power to get anything through Congress, at all, ever, at any level. No power to appoint anyone, at all, ever. And, the Democrats should have little difficulty gathering sufficient Republican support to reverse most, if not all Trump policies, given Trump's unpopularity. It's clear now, the party is over for Donald Trump. He is finished.
