Why do people say that the United States is on stolen land even though it was acquired from the first nations through mutually beneficial treaties intended to maintain peace and ensure cooperation between the two parties?
Because they weren’t mutually beneficial treaties intended to maintain peace and ensure cooperation between the two parties. The natives were forced into giving up their lands by treaty at gunpoint and through bribery of influential natives, and, when that didn’t work, the whites just took their lands and removed the natives by force!
